Pau has a population of 145.000 and used to be the capital city of Navarrese monarchs back in 1512. It became a resort highly appreciated by Aristocrats in the 19th century. The city has many touristic sites and monuments, but the most famous one is without a doubt Henry IV’s castle, built during the Medieval era.
