Fort Boyard
between the island of Aix and Oléron, Fort Boyard has had many lives. Initially built to protect the islands of Charentes-Maritime, fort boyar was then used as a prison. The building became famous through cinema and televisions. Though the fort is not opent to public, visitors can take a boat tour around the building to admire it from up close and enjoy an exceptionnal viewpoint.
